I think that is a great Republican idea! It is part of the Republican pledge and Obama stole it. However it does not go far enough.
The article states: "The freeze applies to all federal employees -- including civilian employees of the Defense Department, and will not impact step increases or bonuses for federal workers, according to sources".
First of all why do Federal workers get bonuses? This kind of undermines the whole idea of cutting federal spending when bonuses are subjective, and the Government could make up for any pay increase with an increase in bonuses equal to those standard pay increases. This nothing more than a Smoke Screen and Political Theater.
This is what is actually happening. Obama is creating a con by making the public think that he is serious about cutting spending, while increasing bonus's and step increases to satisfy the Unions~!!!
Why didn't he do this two years ago~???
Freeze all Federal spending across the Board Period~!!!
